i want to sing, lyrics/melody by lolo bomboy

Re: my diary/lyrics-song book- (B2 - i want to sing...)

 Message body

dear diary,

we now come to the second song this group B.  i just changed the title
of this song because the original title and parts of the lyrics might
give the impression i have copied it somewhere. i don't even want to
mention the original title and said lyrics here at all because of this.

title - i want to sing
written - no recorded date: 1989-1997
melody/lyrics - lolo bomboy
group B - song # B2
no cd/demo tape
melody not remembered

lyrics:

i have a song
that i will sing forever
i sing that you
will always love me so

and when we try
to sing this song together
then you might feel
the same way that i do

and will you try
to hear me sing
my song to you
so you would know
i really love you so

and when you hear
the words of love
i sing to you
then you might wish
to make them all
come true

i want to sing
this song of love forever
i want to sing
this song of love for you

so when we try
to sing this song
together
then you might feel
the same way that i do

and will you try
to hear me sing
my song to you
so you would know
i really love you so

and when you hear
the words of love
i sing to you
then you might wish
to  make them all
come true

now, i even like the changes better than the original lyrics.

i think i should take some rest now so i will be ready for work this
afternoon. we'll continue with this when i get home from work tonight.
tomorrow is my off day anyway.

melody/lyrics - lolo bomboy
group B song # B3
no cd/demo tape

lyrics:

masdan mo
giliw ko
ang aking mga mata
may kislap pa ba ito
dahil sa mahal kita

kahit na
lumimot ka
pagibig ko'y tatagal
di na ko iibig pa
dahil sa mahal kita

masdan mo
giliw ko
ang aking mga mata
may kislap pa ba ito
dahil sa mahal kita

ganyan lang
ba sinta
pagibig kong nakuha
sa isang biglang iglap
nalimot mo ang lahat

masdan mo
giliw ko
ang aking mga mata
may kislap pa ba ito
dahil sa mahal kita

di na ba
sasapat
pagibig kong kay tapat
dapat lang sinabi mo
kung may kulang pa ito

masdan mo

sakit, gutom, at kalamidad,

maging matiwasay hanggang wakas...

kailan kaya, lyrics/melody by lolo bomboy

Re: my diary/lyrics-song book- (B5 - kailan kaya)

Message body

dear diary,

i was really having a difficult time re-arranging the lyrics of the
fifth song in group B to make the song sound or look better than i
originally wrote it so i could include it in this group. after so much
effort, this is how things worked.

title - kailan kaya
written - no recorded date: 1989-1997
melody/lyrics - lolo bomboy
group B song # 5
no cd/demo tape
melody not remembered

lyrics:

kailan kaya
sasaya hirang
o ang buhay ko
na walang saysay

kailan pa ba
darating hirang
ang takdang araw
na hinihintay

di nga ba ako
na-a-angkop
sa pagtinging
di mapagbiro

di nga ba ako
nararapat
sa pagsintang
tunay na tapat

kailan kaya
makararamdam
ng pagmamahal
na akin lamang

kailan kaya
makararanas
ng pagsasamang
tunay at wagas

di nga ba ako
na-a-angkop
sa pagtinging
di mapagbiro

di nga ba ako
nararapat
sa pagsintang
tunay na tapat

kailan kaya
darating hirang
araw na ito
sa aking buhay

at least, this song now seems to have more meaning than it did before.
or it looks much closer to reality now than before. if we really come to
think of it, relationships are that difficult for some people  or so it
seems.

please tell me how, lyrics/melody by lolo bomboy

Message body

dear diary,

i do wish i could remember the melody of this song the lyrics of which i
am  going to send you next. that way i will be able to find out if i
need to make any changes in said lyrics. i guess i'll just have to rely
on how i feel as i go along.

title - please tell me how now
written - no recorded date: 1989-1997
melody/lyrics - lolo bomboy
group B song# B6
no cd/cassette demo tape
melody not remembered

lyrics:

please tell me now
how do i make you happy
really happy
please tell me now

please tell me now
now that i want you happy
really happy
please tell me now

how do i stop
the tears from falling down
from falling down
from falling down
won't you please tell me
please tell me now

we can keep things going
i can keep you smiling
giving you all my love
all my life
if you tell me how
i must ask you now

i'm sorry for
the things i haven't done
to make you happy
really happy

please forgive me
i'm really sorry
won't you please forgive me
loving you as i do
won't you tell me now

please tell me now
how do i make you happy
really happy
please tell me now

how do i keep
the tears from coming back
from coming back
from coming back
won't you please tell me
won't you tell me now

well, i think i'll just have to leave this song as it stands because i
have no idea how the melody goes. thus, there is nothing that can guide
me in making any change in the lyrics.

maybe, we can just treat it like a poem or a narration.

but i get the sense that these people are on the verge of breaking up
and  one is trying to patch things up to save the relationship. we have
no way of knowing though whether or not it is too late for them to do
that.

"roses in your mind.." lyrics/melody by lolo bomboy

Re: my diary/lyrics-song book- (B7 - roses in your mind

dear diary,

it took me a while to make changes in the lyrics of the song i am now
sending you precisely because i do not remember the melody of this song.
but somehow, i found a mechanical way of doing it by making the number
of words or syllables
the same for every verse. these words or syllables would to my mind
correspond to each of the notes of whatever melody i may be able to come
up with later on.

i based the count on the number of words or syllables in the first verse
of the song.
in the chorus, i based the count on the number of words or syllables of
the first sentence or phrase of the first verse of the chorus. this is
how it went.

title - roses in your mind
written - no recorded date
melody/lyrics - silvestre j. acejas
group B song # 7

roses in your mind (5)
what do these roses (5)
mean to you (3)
my dearest one (4)

roses in your mind (5)
they were all that i (5)
could give you (3)
on valentine (4)

roses in your mind (5)
like this love of mine (5)
they won't fade away (5)
but will grow with time (5)

they will always be (5)
oh as fresh and true (5)
as my love for you (5)
this i promise you (5)

roses in your mind (5)
how do they tell you (5)
all that is (3)
inside my mind (4)

roses in your mind (5)
who'd say those roses (5)
mean you own (3)
this heart of mine (4)

roses in your mind (5)
like this love of mine (5)
they won't fade away (5)
but will grow with time (5)

they will always be (5)
oh as fresh and true (5)
as my love for you (5)
this i promise you (5)

roses in your mind (5)
all because you will (5)
always be (3)
my valentine (4)
always be (3)
my valentine (4)

i hope this mechanical way of re-writing the lyrics of this song works
when i try to find the new melody for it. i really hope it does, but
even in that case, it will take me a lot to time to be able to do ithe
same with the lyrics of the other songs which i still have to send to
you.

what i must do, lyrics/melody by lolo bomboy

Re: my diary/lyrics-song book- (B8 - what i must do)

Message body

dear diary,

the next song in this group is a short one. and i do not even think i
will need to re-write the lyrics of this song.

title - what i must do
written - april 10 to april 15, 1993
melody/lyrics - silvestre j. acejas
group B song # B8

how do i forgive
my own brothers
i used to ask
myself before

but then again
i read the book once more
i don't ask myself
that question anymore

i must love my enemies
and do good to those who hate me
pray for those who mistreat me
an i must bless those who are
cursing me

this is what
the good book tells me
and now i know
what i must do

if i don't forgive
my own brothers
then our Father won't
forgive me too

maybe, i will be able to find the melody for this song again. i think i
really meant this song for myself when i wrote it based on what i had
then read from the bible.

happy valentine's '93

Re: my diary/lyrics-song book- (B9 - happy valentine '93)

Message body

dear diary,

here again is another song for valentine's day. it's a shame really that
i no longer remember the melody of this song. it's a consolation though
that i don't feel i need to re-write the lyrics of this song.

title - happy valentine's '93
written - on or before valentine's day - 1993
melody/lyrics - silvestre j. acejas
group B song # B9

on this special day
may i sing to you
happy valentine
cause i love you so

on this special day
may i pledge anew
all my love and care
i shall give to you

take my hand
as i stand
to sing this song
just for you
cause i know
i love you so

let me know
that you know
i really do
let me feel
that you feel
the same way too

on this special day
may i sing to you
just this simple song
that i wrote for you

on this special day
may i sing to you
happy valentine
cause i love you so

on this special day
may your dreams come true
may the days ahead
bring the best to you

i guess the above lyrics will do. and i do hope i find the melody for
them. i guess it is time now too for me to take a break.

"what more...", lyrics/melody by lolo bomboy

Message body

dear diary,

well, i guess i found another song the lyrics of which i can send now as
is, where is. that makes my job so much easier as you know.

title - what more
written - no recorded date: 1989-1997
melody/lyrics - lolo bomboy
group B song # 10
no cd/cassette demo tape
melody not remembered

lyrics:

what more can i say
what more can i do
to show you my dear
how much i love you

how can i explain
these feelings i have
if  you ask me my dear
i'd say i'm in love

i know that i miss you
each day of the week
i take time to listen
whenever you speak

and i wish i could steal
one little kiss from you
oh please let me do it
i now must beg of you

i know that you know
these things that i say
so why do you hide
your feelings from me

don't make it so hard
for someone like me
to know how you feel
oh please answer me

i know that i miss you
each day of the week
i take time to listen
whenever you speak

and i wish i could steal
one little kiss from you
oh please let me do it
i now must beg of you

what more can i say
what more can i do
to show you my dear
how much i love you

well, i did change one or two words or lines of the lyrics of the song
just to make it easier to sing. like in the third phrase of the second
verse, i changed the words from "should you ask me dear.." to " if you
ask me my dear.."

and then i changed the line..." one sweet kiss from you.." to " one
little kiss from you..."

and the line.." will you let me do it.. to "oh please let me do it..

and the word "so" to "oh" in the line "so please answer me..." to "oh
please answer me..."

and what is more, i started to recall the melody of this song as i was
sending you its  lyrics line by line. same thing happened to the other
song, happy valentine '93, although in this latter case, i was able to
recall the melody after i sent you the lyrics.

"you'll be my valentine '97", lyrics/melody by lolo bomboy

Message body

dear diary,

another song for valentine is what i am now sending you. i think i will
not need to make any changes in the lyrics of this song except for some
very minor ones, if at all.

title - you'll be my valentine '97
written - on or before valentine's day, 1997
melody/lyrics - lolo bomboy
group B song # B11
no cd/cassette demo
melody not remembered

lyrics:

you'll be my valentine
no matter what they say
i know this heart of mine
will never lie to me

you'll be my valentine
forever and a day
so let this be a sign
you'll give your heart to me

should you ever need me
on valentine
let me know and you'll see
i will come on time

we could go out dancing
but first we dine
we'll end up singing
you own this heart of mine

you'll be my valentine
no one else could be
you can be sure this time
so why not let it be

you'll be my valentine
forever and a day
so let this be a sign
you'll give your heart to me

should you ever need me
on valentine
let me know and you will see
i will come on time

we could go out dancing
but first we dine
we'll end up singing
you own this heart of mine

i wish i'd be able to recall the melody of this song after i send you
these lyrics. otherwise, i will have to find another melody for it,
although maybe we can also just treat it like a poem or a narration.

but before doing that, i think we might as well take a break at this
time.

by the way, i already made an acappella tape recording of the two songs
i sent you before, songs B9 abd B10.

what good can a song do, lyrics/melody by lolo bomboy

Sent: Saturday, December 5, 2009 12:56 PM
Subject: Re: my diary/lyrics-song book- (B12 - what good can a song do)

dear diary,

come to think of it, the next song should be my favorite of all. not
because of the melody but because i think it speaks the truth for so
many songwriters, professional or otherwise.

we can never even imagine the number of songs that have been written
that we have not heard at all. even the best-selling records only sell
so many million copies... so how many more do not hear the songs in those
records. and what about those that do not sell so many copies.

so what good can those songs written but not heard do.

title - what good can a song do
written - no recorded date: 1989-1997
melody/lyrics - silvestre j. acejas
group B song # 12
no cd/cassette demo tape
melody not remembered

lyrics:

what good can a song do
what good can it ever do
when there's no one to sing it
it can never be any good to you

the words of a song may
sound so true as we may know
when there's no one to hear them
they can never be any good to you

will someone please try
to sing any love song
someone might listen
and fall in love with you

who knows and who could say
if  that someone might be
the one you'd really want
to fall in love with you

what good can a song do
when there's no one to sing it
when there's no one to hear it
it can never be any good to you

i actually changed the lyrics of this song so it would apply to any love
song in general. not just to those i've written as i had originally
intended it to cover.

and i guess the feeling i had when i wrote this song is shared by many
other frustrated songwriters who have written songs that have not been
heard of because record companies would not put them into records
because they know said songs will not sell in the market.

i think even the very best of  song writers must have written other
songs that never got recorded and were heard by anyone but by themselves.

"I walk with you," lyrics/melody by lolo bomboy

Message body

dear diary,

i have to resend you this letter because of one little correction that i
have to make in
the second to the last line of the second verse where i omitted the word
LOVE in the phrase  ALL MY LOVE WILL FOREVER BE ONLY YOURS MY DEAR.

SO here's the second verse agan as corrected:

though the road ahead
be dark and dim
there's no doubt
i will love you still
hold my hand
as i make it clear
all my love will forever
be only yours my dear

so that's it. if i had a computer i could have just very easily made the
correction in my original letter, and i could have resent it you with
the above correction.

because i could not edit my original letter, i had to send you another
email with the correction plus my original email.

dear diary,

i am trying to rewrite the lyrics of the  next song because i don't feel
about the way it has  been written. let me see if i can
improve it.

title - i walk with you
written - no recorded date but rewritten on december 4,2009
melody/lyrics - lolo bomboy
group B song # B 13
no cd/cassette demo tape,
melody not remembered
lyrics:

i walk  with you
because you are lonely
i walk with you so
you can be near me
i walk with you
so i can tell you
all my life
i'll be glad to walk with you

though the road ahead
be dark and dim
there's no doubt
i will love you still
hold my hand
as i make it clear
all my love will forever
be only yours my dear

i'll walk with you
whenever you're lonely
i'll be the one
to drive all of your
tears away
i'll talk to you
whenever you need me
it's all the same
be it night or be it day

and so l hope
and i will pray
you and i
will remain to be
just as close
as we can ever be
no matter what
may cross our path
along the way

if trouble should come
to you and me
you can be sure
i will always stay
and stand by you
in every way
cause as you know
you can always count
on me

i sing this song
so you won't be lonely
i sing this song
just for you only
i sing this song
to show you my dear
there is nothing
at all that we
should fear

there is nothing
at all that we
should fear

i will try to  find a melody for this song as i have re-written it. i
think though it has a more positive outlook than it had before.

much later on, i will try to show to you how this song appears as
re-written in comparison with the original so you can appreciate the
mechanics i employed in re-writing it.

there are two other songs in group B that i would also like to send you
the original lyrics  of so you can see how the lyrics of the said songs
as i re-wrote them appear in comparison with the original lyrics.

i think it would really be interesting to see how the changes have made
such a difference in all three cases.

and by the way, i have found a new melody for song #B13, and i have
already made a voice recording of this new melody, so i do not forget it
again.

day in and day out, lyrics/melody by lolo bomboy

Re: my diary/lyrics-song book- (B14 - day in and day out)

Message body

dear diary,

here's another song that i will try to revise because i don't feel so
good about the way i have originally written this song. i hope i can
improve it in the same way that i had done with previous song.

title - day in and day out
written - no recorded date (1989-1993)  but rewritten
december 5, 2009
melody/lyrics - lolo bomboy
group B song # B 14
melody not remembered
lyrics:
day in and day out
with every little beat
of our hearts
we know deep down
inside
there's so much more in life
that we can derive

day in and day out
beyond the shadow
of a doubt
nothing will ever succeed
to break us apart
a promise that we made
right from the start

day in and day out
we will do our best
to make things work out
for no matter
how hard we try
there will be days
that can make us cry

day in and day out
there will be times
when we would be hurt
but keeping our heads
together for sure
we will survive out of
the goodness of our hearts

day in and day out
with every beat of our hearts
beyond the shadow of doubt
whether the skies be
gray or bright
we will forever be grateful
we will forever be joyful
for every moment we share
with each other
day in and day out

well, i guess this is the best that i can do under the circumstances.
still, i think this revised version of this song is much better that the
one i originally wrote.

there is a song i keep in my heart, lyrics/melody by lolo bomboy

Message body

dear diary,

the next song is again one that i am trying to revise.  i don't know if
i can improve it at all or if i should even  include it in this group. i
don't even remember why i wrote this song. maybe, it was just all part
of some kind of an experiment that i wanted to make at that time... the
experiment of writing a song about anything in the hope i could come up
with something nice or worthwhile or with a melody that sounds good even
if the lyrics are not that good or that meaningful. or something like an
exercise. or a practice session.  like in an english class where
students are required to write essays, poems, short stories and other
compositions on any subject the students may choose themselves or on a
topic given by the teacher.

title - there's a song
written - no recorded date but revised december 6, 2009
melody/lyrics - lolo bomboy
group B song # 14
melody not remembered

there's a song that i keep
oh so deep in my heart
it is the song you sang
to tell me you were mine

i still can recall the song
how well you sang it then
you sang it from your heart
and i heard it in my soul

your voice was so sweet
it still plays in my mind
a melody that will linger
with the passage of time

you sang it once for me
then the song was mine
i've been singing it for you
our love song of long ago

it is the song that i keep
oh so deep in my heart
a gift of love from me to you
our love song of long ago

fall in love with me, lyrics/melody by lolo bomboy

Message body

dear diary,

i made a mistake in the numbering of the previous song i sent you. it
should have been song # 15, instead of song #14 as indicated in my
email. i won't be revising this next song anymore because i know when i
wrote the lyrics for this song i already had a melody for it, just like
all the other songs that i have writen.

if i revise it like i did with some of the songs i've just sent you,
then i will have to find a new melody for it. i can do this in two ways.

one way would require me to count the number of words and syllables in
the first verse and follow that number in writing the lyrics for the
other verses. in that way, i will have to find only one new melody that
will apply to all the verses, except for the chorus for which i need to
find a new melody too. this is how i rewrote song# B7.

the second way, which i followed in the other songs i rewrote, will
require me to find as many new melodies as there are verses in the song
as rewritten, this is because there is very little chance that the
number of words and syllables in one verse would be the same as in the
other verses. but maybe the change in the melody will only be very
slight.

title - fall in love with me
written- no recorded date : 1989-1993
melody/lyrics - lolo bomboy
group B, song B16

fall in love with me
fall in love, fall in love wih me
you'll be driving me crazy
till you fall in love with me

fall in love, fall in love,
fall in love with me
nothing will be sweeter
than to hear you say
you'll fall in love with me

fall in love, fall in love
fall in love with me
you'll be driving me crazy
till you fall in love wih me

i can wait till forever
till the stars from the sky
should fall
just don't say you will never
fall in love with me at all

until then i will never
fall in love with someone else
until then i'll be waiting
i don't know how this will end

fall in love, fall in love
fall in love with me
you'll be driving me crazy
till you fall in love with me

so i guess this song will do for whatever it may be worth. it must have
been one of the exercises i did in our attempt to learn how to write the
melody of a song and the lyrics for it.

it may have been just like one of those writing exercises students in an
english class do. the teacher requires them to write an essay, a poem,
an oration or any other composition on any subject the teacher assigns
or the students choose by themselves.

like i told ka art p. madulid when we started all this, to learn to
write songs, one must learn by writing songs and not by reading books on
how to write them.

this in fact is the very reason why i also wrote all the others songs
that i have written. i just wanted to learn how to write them.
